Kevin Nixon is the President of the Detroit Institute of Music Education, as well as DIME Online and Original 1265 Recordings. Responsibilities include overall business strategy and direction, expansion and development. He is the music business liaison to ensure that graduates are able to engage directly with the modern day music industry. He is responsible for all of DIME’s facilities and negotiates leases and building projects. Nixon works closely with investors to ensure business plans are adhered to and have a shared vision of DIME. Before coming to the US, he, along with partners Sarah Clayman and Bruce Dickinson, opened the Brighton Institute of Modern Music (BIMM) in four locations throughout the UK. His experience as an artist, record producer and manager has given him insight into the music industry that he passes along to the staff and students of DIME. His acts include Kirsty MacColl, Kula Shaker, Francis Dunnery, and Little Angels. Nixon was also an apprentice professional footballer with the Leeds United Football Club.
