Elected on April 7, 2015, Kristin is the City Councilmember for District 4 where she has lived for 20 years. Kristin grew up in the foothills of Southern Colorado and came to Fort Collins to attend CSU. She worked her way through college at a former Old Town landmark, the Stone Lion Bookstore.After graduating Kristin chose to stay in Fort Collins to work and raise her family. She has worked as a bookstore manager, Executive Director of the Youth Orchestra and is currently a Graduate Coordinator at CSU.In addition to working and raising her three children, Kristin has been very active as a community volunteer. She has volunteered as a 4-H leader for the past 10 years and served on the Mother’s Center Steering Committee. She has also done volunteer work with Poudre School District, Meals on Wheels, the Food Bank and the Little Shop of Physics.Kristin has also served on a number of city and county boards and the Poudre School District’s Advisory Board. She was the co-chair of the Fort Collins Women’s Commission and served on the county’s Integrated Family Enhancement Board and the Larimer County Citizen Review Panel. Prior to being elected to City Council, she spent five years on the city’s Community Development Block Grant Commission where she helped advise City Council on how to spend its affordable housing budget and worked on the city’s Affordable Housing Strategic Plan. Most of Kristin’s civic and volunteer work has involved helping children and working families.
